Karlyn Vegoe Boraas, a shareholder of Anthony Ostlund Baer Louwagie & Ross, practices in all areas of business litigation. She represents corporations and individuals in shareholder disputes, including buy-out motions, and represents broker-dealers and investors in securities litigation and arbitration. Ms. Boraas also represents clients in matters involving breach of contract, fraud, business torts, and employment law.

Ms. Boraas has experience in state and federal courts and various arbitration forums.  Ms. Boraas recently completed a month-long jury trial in Hennepin County District Court with Joseph Anthony and Randy Gullickson in which the jury awarded the firm’s client, PDG, P.A., $130 million in a breach of contract and fiduciary duty case.

In 2001, 2002, and 2003, Ms. Boraas was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Journal of Law & Politics.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Boraas earned cum laude honors when she received her J.D. degree at the University of Minnesota Law School and earned summa cum laude honors when she received her B.S. degree in Accounting and Business Administration at Minnesota State University Moorhead. In 1990, Ms. Boraas passed the Certified Public Accountant Examination in North Dakota.

Professional Activities
Ms. Boraas is admitted to practice law in Minnesota, and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association. She is a former officer of the New Lawyers Sections of the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association.

Ms. Boraas has written extensively in her practice areas, including contributing materials to Continuing Legal Education seminars. Ms. Boraas is a co-author of "Minority Shareholder Rights-Revisited," The Hennepin Lawyer, Vol. 65, No. 4 March-April 1996 and "Betrayed, Belittled . . .But Triumphant: Claims of Shareholders in Closely Held Corporations," William Mitchell Law Review, Vol. 22, No. 4 (1996).
