Janel Dressen is a shareholder of Anthony Ostlund Baer Louwagie & Ross, P.A. where she represents individuals and companies, plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial, business and employment disputes.  Ms. Dressen’s experience includes numerous matters involving shareholder and partnership disputes, employment disputes, business competitor disputes, securities arbitrations, and product warranty and Uniform Commercial Code claims.  Ms. Dressen has appeared in state and federal courts and arbitration forums nationwide on behalf of her clients.  In addition, Ms. Dressen has briefed and argued matters before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Minnesota Supreme Court. Ms. Dressen also counsels businesses regarding risk management and avoidance, employment related matters and insurance coverage issues.
 
In addition to her business litigation background as a trial lawyer, Ms. Dressen has the unique and invaluable experience of serving as litigation counsel for a Fortune 1000 company in Minneapolis for over one year during which time she directed and supervised the strategy and defense of varied types of litigation, with a special emphasis on national product matters, worked with counsel nationwide in the development of case and claims strategy, litigation plans, case budgets, cost management, and procuring the early resolution of cases through alternative dispute resolution.  As corporate litigation counsel, Ms. Dressen also counseled business groups, executives and other members of senior management with respect to litigation strategy, risk management, preventive measures, and compliance matters.
 
Ms. Dressen has been recognized as a “RISING STAR” by Minnesota Law & Politics for six straight years.

Education
Ms. Dressen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a pre-law minor in just three years in 1997 from Southwest State University (now known as Southwest Minnesota State University).  Ms. Dressen graduated magna cum laude and was named the sole outstanding political science graduate.  Thereafter, Ms. Dressen graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2000 where she served as the Vice President of the Moot Court Board, a trial team member and negotiation competition team member.  Continuing her outstanding academic achievements in law school, Ms. Dressen graduated in the top five percent of her class and was named a member of the Thomas Sterling Honor Society.
